CISM: Helping Responders Cope

The Pierce County Critical Indicent Stress Management (CISM) team is a group of volunteer emergency responders and mental health professionals whose purpose is to help emergency responders, in participating organizations, understand, accept and manage their feelings and reactions to disturbing situations.

CISM extends a lifeline of backup support and information to help emergency responders get relief from traumatic distress so they can continue to function effectively throughout their careers. The groups brings perspectives from different organizations and professions to meeting this critical goal.
