It's 9:15 a.m. on October 21, 2009....the ground is rumbling....pictures start moving....plants start swaying.....knick-knacks start falling....and you suddenly realize....IT'S AN EARTHQUAKE! The Puget Sound Region has been hit with a 7.1 earthquake along the Tacoma Fault Line!

Thousands are without power; roads are in gridlock; buildings have collapsed; there's fire and smoke in the Port of Tacoma area and major landslides around Commencement Bay and through the Puyallup River valley. Citizens are trying to evacuate out of the valley, phone service is down, including 911.....and a tsunami watch has been issued for the Puget Sound.

Plus....it's been raining heavily for the last 3 days and temperatures have ranged from lows in the 40s to highs in the 50s. It looks like it may continue to rain for the next 2 days. Reports are coming in 'this is the worst we have ever seen...'

This is the scenario for 'Shake-n-Quake 2009', Pierce County's Earthquake Exercise to be held on October 21, 2009! We want you to be involved!!
