A development moratorium prohibits Pierce County from accepting development permit applications on the land subject to the moratorium. The development moratorium lasts for a period of 6 years, or until a request to remove the moratorium is approved by the County.
Remove a 6-Year Development Moratorium
A landowner may request a Single-Family Dwelling Exception to lift the development moratorium on an undivided area up to 2 acres in size for the purpose of constructing a single-family residence and associate accessory structures.
Use this checklist as a guide to a complete application.
Letter of Authorization
The owner must provide a signed letter of authorization for the applicant in the event the applicant is not the property owner.
The site plan must be drawn to scale, include a north arrow, show areas logged on parcel and identify area subject to request. The single-family dwelling exception area must be whole and undivided and may not exceed 2 acres in size.
