2020 Pierce County Health Plans

Pierce County is committed to providing employees with benefits that will help them with their healthcare needs while safeguarding the resources provided by taxpayers.

The Pierce County Council approved the County Executive's proposal to transition from the current County plans to more stable state plans, administered by the Public Employees Benefit Board, or PEBB.

What does this mean for County plan employees?
Employees who are currently eligible for County plans (Regence PPO, Kaiser, dental, life and disability insurance) will have an entirely new menu of benefits to choose from during this year's annual Open Enrollment, for coverage beginning January 1, 2020.

What does this mean for Washington Teamsters Welfare Trust employees?
Employees in this benefit group will have the same medical, dental, life and disability options for 2020 that they had for 2019, in accordance with their union labor agreement. See the Health Benefits page for plan information.
