Have a youth interested in Natural events? Or curious how their families can be better prepared in an emergency? Does your child know how to access 9-1-1 in case of an emergency? Then this three-day virtual Emergency Preparedness Camp is for them.
Participants will learn what to do before, during, and after an emergency. Educators from the Department of Emergency Management will provide fun activities to teach problem solving, creativity, and communication skills that will help youths respond to unexpected situations. There will also be fun science experiments shown that participants can also do at home along with videos, apps, and special guests that will make the material fun and easy to understand.
Online* - Log into virtual Camp each day from a personal device.
*The camp will be hosted through Zoom. Participants do not need the Zoom app - Zoom will send out an invite to campers.
What is needed for Camp:
Each virtual camper will pick up a box before camp with all the materials needed for the class plus a few items to start their emergency preparedness kit at home. Campers must have access to a laptop, tablet, or phone to participate in camp.
